Rana Siu Inboden is a Distinguished Scholar at the Robert S. Strauss Center for International Security and Law and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. She also serves as a consultant on human rights, democracy, and rule of law projects in Asia for a number of non-governmental organizations.
Dr. Inboden received her DPhil from the Department of Politics and International Relations at Oxford University. She obtained an M.A. in East Asian Studies at Stanford University and a B.S. at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She was awarded a U.S. State Department Superior Honor Award for her work in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.
Rana is married to Dr. Will Inboden and they have a 2 year old son. Her husband is an American academic, writer, and former White House staffer. Inboden is the Executive Director and William Powers, Jr. Chair of the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas.
