Quantum Mechanics and the Sovereignty of God Dr. Michael Strauss

Please join our graduate students on Thursday the 7th of March for dinner, followed by a lecture on quantum mechanics by Dr. Michael Strauss.

Dr. Strauss is a Professor of Physics at the University of Oklahoma conducting research in high-energy particle physics, currently with data from the ATLAS detector at CERN laboratory near Geneva, Switzerland where he studies the fundamental particles and forces that makeup the universe.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in physical science from Biola University and his Ph.D. in experimental elementary particle physics from the University of California in Los Angeles. His previous research was done at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

Dr. Strauss has spoken about the intersection of science and Christianity at universities, schools and churches throughout the world. He has the ability to explain complex topics in language that is simple and easily understandable, and to offer life applications based on scientific and biblical ideas. He is the author of The Creator Revealed: A Physicist Examines the Big Bang and the Bible, and one of the general editors of the Dictionary of Christianity and Science, published by Zondervan.
